A held a Bridal Shower at my house a few weeks back and I was looking for a devotional to do. I felt ill-equipped as I, myself, have only been married 6 years. I also wanted to do something bible based, almost straight out of the bible. Because who better to instruct us than the Creator of marriage himself. Then I remembered the Proverbs 31 woman. Even though it's not on marriage, I thought how perfect to read for a group of young woman, some married, some not.
I fell so in love with it. I've known this verse for a while but I haven't read it in a long time. I guess it opened new insight for me as I've become "seasoned." Then I started thinking of woman who I admire for many of these traits and of course, naturally, I think of my own mom.
She brings good, works vigorously, is strong, arms wide open, extends those in need, blessed, noble, honored and fears the Lord and of course, is worth far more than rubies.
And the timing of this devotional worked out perfectly as I was starting to think about designing a card for Mother's Day. Most of my cards aren't heavy text. But this one is. This one needed to tell our Mom's they are the perfect representation of how Christ designed a woman to be. They are the Proverbs 31 woman.
Here is the actual wording on the card itself taken and adapted from Proverbs 31 starting v10.
