Life is pretty uncertain right now; we all know that. We are all trying our best to make due with these unprecedented times. And for most of us, we’ll be okay. We’ll weather the storm. It might hurt for a while but in the end, we’ll make it.
Being a small business, my heart goes out to other small businesses especially those who have physical locations or those who put their everything into making their dreams come true; those who took a leap of faith and went after their calling.
We’ll be okay here at Six Notes. Our livelihood doesn’t depend on our sales. We’ve held true to using this small business as a mission field. We exist to share the power of God’s word. We don’t exist like so many others to put food on the table.
When the chaos, shut downs and isolations started going into effect, I wondered how God could use us. There was one company that God kept bringing to my thoughts. Vendella Coffee Haus. I felt it was super odd as I have no idea who these owners are and I’ve never actually been to Vendella Coffee because they are located 30 minutes away. But when God keeps bringing something to mind, you explore what he has to tell you.
He put it on our hearts to share/donate the majority of our proceeds with them over the next couple weeks. This is a company who just opened their doors a month ago. Their dream was to create a space that invited people to come in, relax, slow down and enjoy life, to share laughs. A place to give people grace and a place to belong. And being a family owned business, new to the industry and rely heavily on foot traffic, it’s pretty hard to survive during these times. Yes they are doing their best to adapt and I truly believe God will bring them through, but it doesn’t mean they have to navigate the roads alone.
We’ve decided to donate back 50% of proceeds back to Vendella. There’s no code. No details. It’s just simple; any and every purchase made with us online, 50% will be donated back. So you buy a $30 tee, we donate $15. You buy $300 worth, we donate $150.
My daughter asked why we would do this. It was fun to share with her that when others struggle, you come along side them. You do what you can. You give of yourself to help them through. Help us rally around them, encourage them, and consider purchasing from the shop.
