For the last year or so, I lead a group of friends in memorizing scripture. Each week I choose a verse, write my thoughts in an email, send it, and on our own accord we memorize. I've found God really challenging me in leading this. He's deepened my faith, my relationship with him, my knowledge and my drive to fulfill his purpose for me on this earth.
One thing that he has made apparent is that he wants me to do something with these verses. He's called upon me to use the talents he has entrusted me with to bring his scripture to every day life. Romans 15:4 "... the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promise to be fulfilled."
I have found hope and encouragement through his word. Now I want to inspire others to find hope and encouragement through Christ. I took a major step in trusting Christ this past weekend with a dream he has instilled on my heart. My dream is to sell graphic scripture tanks and tees, but with verses that inspire the ones who wear and the ones who see and of course they need to be fashionable. My goal was to find verse that go beyond the verses everyone knows. To share verses that teach us, inspire us, that may even make someone open up the Bible again. Verses that show God's true love, not just the surface love that people choose to see.
Here are three verses God has put on my heart to start with. I hope and pray Christ takes this new venture further. If not, he has taught me so much in the meantime that it has all been worth it.
1 John 3:18 - Dear children let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions
Romans 12:21 - Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.
Ephesians 4:2 - Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love.
And here is the potential apparel! I just ordered samples so I hope and pray they look and fit as cute as they do online. But I couldn't wait to share as I'm too excited.
And here is the exciting part:
I've recruited a few models (my friends) a brilliant photographer (Laura Kleffman Photography) maybe a make up artist (we'll see), we chose a location (a historic mansion) and will create a whole event, sharing each step of the way with you. So stay tuned and join in on the fun by following my instagram (@carlyddesign) and Facebook
So here's to new adventures!
...and mini anxiety attacks along the way.
