Finding just the right book can be hard so we put together a list of our absolute favorites. These are our actual family books fully loved so you know they are true recommendations of ours.
This is our FAVORITE children’s bible. Each of my children have this bible and they are thoroughly loved and even held together with packing tape ;) Every story points back to Jesus and masterfully entertains and explains each passage. All four love the story of the Tower of Babel!
Favorite short story biblical fiction. This book brought the five women in the lineage of Jesus to life. While it’s fictional it helps us to understand what life MIGHT have been like for them. While you hear very little of Tamar when reading the Bible, her story became my favorite.
Finding a Bible for those who have maybe navigated past a children’s bible is so HARD! This is a favorite of my 10 year old son. He has read it so many times and has truly started to understand what the Bible is teaching on a deeper level. Some photos are rather graphic so beware of younger eyes.
This series started my love for Christian Fiction. I read it in college after a friend recommended it to me and it transformed my faith beyond what I thought a book could do. I now have read it at least two more time, got my sister hooked, and let my daugther read.
After reading a few Francine Rivers books and falling in love with Christian Fiction, I found Tessa Afshar and the Pearl In The Sand. I was officially hooked and have now read all of her books. This Biblical Fiction is the story of Rahab but not like you’ve ever read. I love when a book opens up my eyes to what a different perspective could be on a well known story.
My favorite children’s book to read to my kids and buy for a baby shower. I never tire of reading it. I’m tempted to still make my teenager sit down and read it with me so the sweet life lesson can truly sink in. “you are special because I made you, and I don’t make mistakes.”
Once you start this series you are not going to want to stop. Each story builds on a new character instroduced in the book before. Connilynn Cossette just might be my favorite author. This is the first book of the her first series.
Another children’s book we love, but this will take you longer to read. Not Velvetine Rabbit long (I hid that from the kids) but let’s sit down for a few and hunker into a good snuggle. The message I love… “Within you is a great oak. Just be the tree God made you to be.”
Setting our reminders is not just a business mission it’s also a personal one. We have intentionally set up our home to be surrounded by reminders of God’s word. This is one of those companies that have helped us do this. Each piece is deeply rooted in God’s word. These three are a reminder to our kids. God is always there even if you walk away for a bit. No one is outside of God’s grace and love. And sometimes we need the help of friends to hold us up to win the battle.
