"Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will dwell in hope" - Psalm 16:9

Psalm 16 is a song of how David found the secret to contentment and gladness in the midst of troubled times.  It’s also known as a messianic psalm and was used by both Peter in Acts 2 and Paul in Acts 13 to describe the hope of Christ resurrection.  

David’s heart was filled with gladness.  He found the secret to true joy, not just a temporary, circumstantial happiness.  But true joy that radiates deep within no matter what troubles we may be facing.  It’s a lasting joy based on God’s presence with us.   It’s a life decision of confidence (not just a wish) of setting the Lord before us knowing he will not let our souls rot in the grave (Sheol) but that his life would continue on in the eternal in the presence of God.

This hope we have in Christ, this promise of something greater to come, is what sustains us in the midst of trying times.  When we dwell and abide in this hope, our souls rests in a joy of His unending love knowing He has made a way and is bringing us to that place of eternal blessing.  

Our prayer is that you also rest in this same hope as David did no matter what this life throws your way.  Dwell in a true joy… in a hope of what’s to come.
