“Be still, and know that I am God.” - Psalm 46:10
The command to "be still" comes from the Hiphil stem of the verb (רפה) rapha. Meaning to be weak, to let go, to release. We surrender our control in order to know that God is in control. We "let go" in order to know the saving power and grace of God in our lives. We give up trusting in ourselves and our own designs and desires in order to experience the glory of God's sovereignty and all He has planned for us. We release our earthly fears to experience the all-knowing wisdom and peace of our Father. And when we release that fear that so often controls and cripples us, we begin to understand that the Father is in complete control over this world and His Kingdom shall reign for all eternity.
Our prayer is that you are reminded to let go every time you put on Be Still. To surrender to the hope in Jesus and His sovereignty.
