Our church is built around four movements. Preparing, listening, responding and sending. The sending movement has impacted our family greatly. After every gathering the church gives a benediction and proclaims that we are sent. We are sent on mission. We are to take what we heard to today and scatter the message, the gospel, to those we surround ourselves with throughout the week. It’s essentially a reminder of the Great Commission.
We are the church and we are not made just for Sundays. Sundays are our day to gather, refresh, connect, and restore our souls with other believers. But we are not just a one day a week church. We are the church that is sent to “go and make disciples of all nations.” We are made to live out His message sharing the good news in word and deed. God surrounded us with amazing people throughout our everyday lives at school, work, sports, activities and our neighborhoods. We have the privilege to be the salt and light for those individuals. We get to be love, truth and service. We are the hands and feet for the Lord. We get to show up, be present and live sent and on mission because we were made for more than just Sundays.
