run it - tee

$30.00

We are all asked to run the race. The race God set out before us.  Some call it life.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,” - Hebrews 12:1

First, this verse gives us clues on how to run it well.  First we realize we are not alone, “let us run.”  This reassures us that the Apostle Paul and other believers are in this race with us.  Second, we run with endurance and perseverance.  This is an endurance that presses on with patience.  Not sit down and accept reality.  No this is an endurance that pushes us to pursue with patience until mastered.  It is determination, steady and unhurrying.  It refuses to be deflected. (Barclay)  And third, we run by throwing off what hinders us in this race.  We throw off the sin that weighs us down: addictions, wrong friend groups, certain activities, stress, shame, etc.  What weight in your life do you need to lay aside?

This race God has us on is not like our worldly races.  First makes no difference.  Running it right and running it will does.  Effort, commitment, and finishing it well are what matters.  And when it gets hard, we remember the first part of this verse.  There is a great cloud of witnesses cheering us on; Champions who went before us.  Others who struggled, failed, and kept on with endurance and won.  So listen to their voices, picture their encouragement as you keep running this race God has you on.  Keep pressing on because our prize is worth it.  Eternity with Him is worth every pain, struggle, sweat, and tear.

Be reminded to Run It.  And Run It well.
