John 3:30 - “He must become greater, and I must become less.”
I love these words from the John the Baptist in John 3:30. Such a humble state of mind with great servitude. He knew that in order for the Lord to step into the light and be the light, that he would need to step back and become less. His time, his calling, his mission was coming to completion. He shows us what a humble servant should look like.
As we walk this road in life, this verse is a great reminder to us as we serve and love God's people. It's less about us, and more about Him. Less of my desires and more of His desires for my life. Less actions to glorify me, and more actions to glorify Him. Less emphasis on self service, and more service to expand His Kingdom.
May we always be reminded that we are a part of His story. His story to love and restore creation.
