God Is Able

I love books that break down specific scripture.  It's how I fell in love with our Abundantly More - Ephesians 3:20-21 verse thus putting it on a shirt.  I read God Is Able by Priscilla Shirer about a year ago.  It's a simple read with a powerful impact.  So if you are in need of a good summer read... this is your book. 

Well, I decided to pick it up again and start reading.  I came upon the chapters that specifically talked about Abundantly More and what that means.  I wanted to share with you a little from the book - rephrased a little in my words.  It makes you think about the shirt and the power in wearing those two words a little bit more.

This is the Ephesians 3:21-21 verse.  Actually it's a doxology or a prayer to praise our Father in Heaven. 

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,  to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever.  Amen. - Ephesians 3:20-21

Far More Abundantly.  I love that section of the verse.   In some translations, it translates to exceeding abundantly beyond.  It derives from the Greek words Hyperekperissou Hyper.  

It's like the Apostle Paul couldn't quite think of a word big enough to explain God's capability.  So he tacked on a few prepositions to juice up the words beyond their original meaning.  

Hyper.

Think about what that word can do?!  Whenever hyper finds its way into a word, it makes the original word bigger and grander, faster and stronger, deeper and more multidimensional.

So when the Apostle Paul writes "now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we can ask or think..." he means BEYOND your more and then FAR more again can God do it. He is Hyper Hyper able.

There always seems to be one thing in our life that we want to ask God for.  We deeply desire and dream of.   Priscilla writes this as examples... When you think about the kind of miracle it would take to completely revolutionize your circumstances, to cleanse your conscience, to repair your relationships, to brighten your outlook, to dig you out of this hole you're in, what is the most amazing, mind-blowing, stupefying solution you can picture?

What would be way past, way beyond your wildest hopes?

God can go beyond that.

Abundantly more beyond that.

Rest assured that we serve a God who is completely and entirely able.  And if you are wondering why he hasn't answered your prayer yet, maybe He's working together something far beyond your wildest dreams.  

How Deep God's Love For Us Is

This verse.

Can we fully comprehend it?

God's love for us is so great. It's wide enough to include everyone and cover over all sin and every circumstance of our lives. He loves us with an everlasting love, an eternal love. He shows us this by the length he went to win us back and save us -to a depth so humbling in order to redeem us and cover our despair and sin with his love. His love is so deep that he went to the cross even for the worst of sinners Oh, but how high his love goes. Right up to the heavens where He lifts us right up into his glory where we are seated with Christ.

To understand the extent of God’s love for us we must come to the cross. The cross that points four ways to show us how wide, long, deep and high his love is for us. And even then… Christ loves us more than we can truly understand. (v19) Be reminded as you where this tank of God's amazing love for you.

So Many Bus Passes!

If feels like forever and a day ago since we launched our Spring Line!  But it hasn't even been a month.  This Spring Line has been a whirl-wind. We've had such great feedback and you guys are loving it.  Especially our His Ways Are Higher Tanks.  We had a reorder on those plus a few more already.  

But what I find super amazing was how you rallied alongside our Give Back launch campaign.  This year with the launch of our Spring Line we decided to support a local ministry that focuses on giving back to the "least of these" and builds a community around them.  The organization was SoulFull.  You can read more about them here.  And with each item sold we were going to donate a bus pass.  

Well...

We were able to donate 42 bus passes!  That means 42 individuals will be able to have transportation to work, a job interview, to church, visit family or just head out of the area they are currently staying and visit a nice park.  SoulFull found that Bus Passes are a great need that many of us don't think about so we were so excited to help in this way.  So thank you for joining us in this mission.  We feel blessed beyond words to be able to make a small impact for His kingdom. 

Love Endures Slouchy Tee

“For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” – Psalm 100:5

Psalm 100 is a call to worship, a call to give thanks and praise to God our Heavenly Father. It’s a psalm that describes people gathering together with glad hearts, full of thanksgiving who have been changed by God and want to fully express their love and honor to Him.

I love this Psalm and how it encourages us as believers to unite and praise Jesus. But what we love most is why we are called and convicted to join as one - because “His steadfast love endures forever.”

We sing His praises because of God’s eternal mercy, love and truth. A love that stands firm and never wavers. A love that endures all, remains always, and even suffers with us patiently.

As you wear this sweatshirt, be reminded of that love. A perfect love that is with you always and forever. And may you sing His praises.

Meaning Behind Grace And Truth

In John 1:14 you learn about the relationship between Jesus and God - Jesus Christ as his one and only Son. Jesus came down to glorify his Father in the flesh, meaning he is still fully divine and came fully human. He also came full of grace and he came full of truth. That was his message to us.

Jesus, the Son Of God, became man and dwelt among his people for a purpose. He came as grace and truth. These two words together are quite interesting if you think about it.  God coming down as a man was showing a different way to govern. Yes he came to share what is right, true and holy but he also came with an unmerited favor of God. Quite simple an undeserved favor.

Jesus was our living example, our perfect example. How he lived and communed with God, how he walked and shared his life with others should be our goal as Christians. His message of grace and truth should be our message. I pray as you wear this shirt, you exemplify what it means to follow Jesus. To live a life full of grace and truth.
