... I Mary!

I never put the Christmas books away last year.  They were Rylee's favorite.  I'd like to say it's b/c she has a genuine love for Jesus which that may or may not be but more realistically it's because she has a more specific love... a love for BABY Jesus.  All babies for that matter.  She also loves the movie, Monsters b/c it has the little baby Boo in it all throughout the movie.

So once again we read about baby Jesus and his mother Mary and the Angel Gabriel that morning. Then about 15 minutes later she walks up to me in the kitchen while I'm getting lunch ready.  She has a baby blankie wrapped around her shoulders and her baby doll stuffed under her shirt near her tummy and says to me,  "Mommy, look!  I Mary!

Then a proud mommy look came over my face and I kissed her all up and forced her to stand for a photo to capture this very sweet memory I'll forever have.

Dave and Canada

We had friends come into town this weekend.  Friends you only get to see once maybe twice a year.  But they are the type of friends you wished lived right next door so the fact that they live in Toronto is extra stinky to say the least.

Before they came into town, we were trying to get Rylee, well and I guess Hudson, familiar with who they were.  This way she'd warm up to them a little smoother and hopefully faster.  She is quite shy right away.  So we showed her pictures and kept telling her that Dave and Kate were coming into town from Canada to visit us.

Well, she got the jist and was all excited for them to get here.  The only probably is she got a little confused.  She kept calling them Dave and Canada.  It was almost too cute not to correct her.  But we did and she finally got it down after a day or so that it was Kate.  And it didn't take her too long to become friends with them.  In fact, she kept asking, and still does ask, to see her "friends."

Thanks you two for loving on our children so much.  We miss you and hope you come back soon.

Too Cute Tuesday

Too cute Tuesday coming at you.

And it's cute because it's one of those moments you just happen to catch on camera.  Steve playing with Hudson and Rylee coming up to tackle her daddy just to give him a big ol' smooch.

Throw It Back and Compare

This was Hudson and a best buddy this summer up at my parents place after a busy day of sand, grass, dirt, and sun.

This was Rylee nearly 2 years ago over Christmas with her cousin after snow, presents and a little santa.

Hudson...

Rylee....

9 months....

8 months....

I thought they looked a like...

Turns out... not so much.

Swing Batter Batter

Rylee and I played a little baseball yesterday as Hudson cheered us on.

I started with a wiffle ball... well you can imagine with my pitching skills and it being Rylee's first time swinging by herself how well that went.

So we went with a bright red, bouncy ball.

We still only made a connection about 1 out of 5 times but I still count it as a success.  But to my surprise she swings already really good.  For a two year old.  She can't quite figure out which way to stand either.  She swings better right handed but stands more natural left handed.

But it really doesn't matter... she did it and enjoyed it.

Rylee was super excited to show dad when he got home from work.  And Steve didn't mind one bit taking over and teaching her a few new skills.
