Lead Me To the Rock

I have to admit, every time I sat down to design, write, and edit this verse I instantly began singing the song. Except for I had the song lyrics totally wrong! (insert emoji where the hand goes to the forehead) Goodness gracious. The song I was actually thinking about was “Lead me to the Cross.” by Hillsong - Cross, Rock… same God right?

Anyways…

Here is our mini devotion on this verse.

In this Psalm David is crying out to God in a time of need.  He is desperate and weak. His heart is overwhelmed.  Life can be that way for us too.  Stress can take over, life can beat us down but we have a choice in how to respond.  Do we fall apart? Fall prey to earthly temptations or do we rise up and call to our Rock like David?

Both Old and New Testament writers refer to our Lord as a Rock throughout scripture.  It was a symbol of strength and security.  It was a place of shelter.  It was a source of life because of the wilderness wanderings of Moses bringing water from a rock for his people.

And just as the Israelites wandered and David struggles, we to will run dry in a wilderness seeking shelter, crying out for comfort and grasping for a life source may we be reminded to reach out to our Lord.  Our rock.  The only firm foundation.

“I call to you from the ends of the earth

When my heart is without strength.

Lead me to the rock that is high above me.” - Psalm 61:2

What does it mean to Abide?

The whole mission behind Six Notes Clothing is to be reminded and show whose we are.  So each piece whether clothes, hat or jewelry is based on a specific bible verse.  And our prayer is that when you wear that item you feel the power of God's word.  Wearing his words has been transforming for me.  It's a constant reminder.  It brings about challenges, grace, and just a constant knowing that my whole purpose and goal in this life it to grow in Jesus.  Become more like Him.  To share Him.  Bring others to know Him.

We launched our Abide sleeveless tee a couple weeks ago with the Spring Line.  It's a powerful passage and my goal over this next month is to truly dive into the symbolic meaning of the vine and the branch.  Kind of like what we did with the Meaning of Salt in the bible.  But until then,  I hope you enjoy reading our mini devotion around this tee.  Yes it's awesome because we finally have a tank that you can wear a regular bra with and it's loose and covers those buns, but it's even more amazing because of the transforming word of God that you put on to remind you to remain and dwell with Him:

Mini Devotion

“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” - John 15:5

This whole passage is astounding to me.  I love it.  Abide or remain has quickly become my word for my walk with Jesus.  Why?  Because when we abide with Him, things just get figured out.  This mutual relationship with Christ in me and I in Him transforms my thoughts and actions, my love and emotions.  And it’s not only mutual it’s a choice.  We have to choose to abide in Christ.  It’s an action.  Christ gave the disciples this imagery of the Vine and the branches in his parting words before He leaves them to be crucified.  I can only imagine he spoke these words to encourage his followers to still seek after him spiritually after he leaves them physically.  To connect with him, savor him, abide in him.  Why? Because his is the vine, our life source, and apart from him, we can do nothing.  He is who gives us the words and strength to fulfill our mission, to bring hope to lost, love to the broken.  He is our message of life.  And it’s only by Him and through him that we can bear any fruit.  Have any impact.

But producing fruit should not be our goal, our goal should be to abide, for when we abide in Christ, the fruit will come.  We bear fruit when, and only when, we are grafted to the True Vine.  His Holy Spirit in us is the fruit producer. We are simply the branches who have the privilege to display His fruit.

Our prayer as you wear this tee is to remember to remain in Jesus, abide in the True Vine.  To stop living in our own strength and lean into his.  Rest, dwell, be still with the Almighty. Abide in his love and allow it to transform you inside out into a beautiful image of God.

Much Love Inspiration

“I tell you, her sins-and they are many-have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love…” – Luke 7:47

Much love.

Can we connect with a love so deep?

Can we humble our hearts and see ourselves as this woman-a great sinner in need of a Savior?

We are all sinful to the core.  We are broken.  We are dirty.  But Jesus washes us clean and makes us new.  This woman got it.  She knew she needed Jesus so she bravely enters into a Pharisee’s home, and overcome with raw emotion and love, she anoints her Savior with a perfume so precious to her.  But she anoints His feet because she knows how unworthy she is before her Redeemer.  Her heart explodes and her tears stream down onto his feet.  She gently takes her hair and wipes away those forever grateful tears.  Her love is pure. Her love it big.  Her love is felt by Jesus.

I pray that when we wear this necklace, it is a great reminder of how deep our love should be for the One who makes us whole.
